I just thought this was kinda interesting. I preordered a 16 Pro this morning, but I already received my 16 Pro silicone case from Apple. One of the headlining features of the iPhone 16 line is the addition of a camera button that’s also touch sensitive. I was curious how the cases would handle this, and now I kinda have an answer. The cases have an actual button there, not a cut out.
Presumably, the button is capacitive and the button on the case will “transfer” your touch to the actual button on the phone. I’m guessing Apple tested this extensively and it works well, but I’ll report back if I have any issues. I’m kinda curious as to how well this will work on third party cases, I guess we’ll find out in a week.
