At least, the best I’ve found. Rooster’s is a tiny little place tucked away kinda behind/beside a shopping center near Bartlett Blvd and Stage Rd. They are not kidding when they call it a “Shack”, I’ve seen larger sheds.
They have some pretty decent chicken, fantastic waffle fries, but the best thing on the menu is the milkshakes.
They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and cookies and cream, along side a few special flavors like mint chocolate, Reese’s, and “The Elvis”, which I’m assuming is peanut butter and banana.
I took Daisy and Ava with me on a Tuesday afternoon. Daisy got a vanilla shake, because she always likes trying the plain flavor to get a bearing on how the milkshakes are. I got mint chocolate because I will NEVER NOT get chocolate mint anything if it’s an option. Ava decided that she would like to try the cookies and cream.
We went through the drive through. They are always super friendly here and today was no exception. A little over $12 and slightly over 5 minutes later we were the proud owners of three milkshakes.
I actually didn’t even get a chance to take pictures of Daisy’s, but I guess that works out because it’s the most plain looking. I did get some shots of the chocolate mint and the cookies and cream shakes.
These are some serious milkshakes, my dudes. First off, they’re a pretty damn good size, looks like a 12oz cup or so, which is really plenty when it comes to milkshakes, and this is the “regular”, they also carry a large, but I’m trying to pull off this website while staying on my diet, so I went with the regular. Honestly the regular is all I would order, they’re very rich, which is obviously a good thing when it comes to milkshakes. Also, they’re ready to drink as soon as you get them. Just the right consistency to actually flow through a straw while still being thick. This is clutch when you order a milkshake with your food. Nothing worse than trying to eat and finding your drink is still a solid. These are perfect! They also come with whipped cream and a cherry on top, which is a nice touch.
The mint chocolate seems to be vanilla ice cream with mint flavor and chocolate cookies mixed in. The cookies and cream is basically the exact same, minus the mint. Both are fantastic. We will DEFINITELY be back to try some of the other flavors (I think the Reese’s is calling my name), and I’ve also heard they have good burgers too.
If you are anywhere within driving distance of Roosters and you opt to go to some chain like Sonic for a milkshake, I will personally come to your home and call you an idiot. Go get an amazing shake at a locally owned restar-er, shack.
As I am about to mention in the video below, I’m kinda changing up the video format a little bit so it’s more of a vlog than a standalone video about this places I visit. Let me know what you think of the change. Here’s the video.
This is our daughters and partner, Allen’s shack! Yes, the milkshakes are do die for! Go there for your Milkshakes needs! Always, Service With A Smile!
We live super close and like that place a lot, I’m going back soon to try a burger.
