This has been like the bane of my existence for a while. Like most people, I drink coffee in the morning, and I don’t want to have to use a crappy disposable cup, but the Miata has tiny cupholders that fit nothing. The taller skinny ones fit in terms of diameter, but then they poke up exactly where your arm wants to be since the Miata cupholder is brilliantly located just aft of the shifter. After lots of effort (read: Amazon shopping), I finally found one that holds my coffee and fits in every car’s cupholder without blocking my gear-rowing arm. It’s made by “Tahoe Trails” and it’s available on Amazon. It holds 10oz and comes with a flip up lid that actually seals it very well.

As far as I can tell, basically all of these cups are the same, likely made in the same factory in china, so the quality is exactly what I expect. It’s a cup, there’s not a lot of moving parts, it’s totally fine. It does indeed keep coffee warm for a very long time, at least a few hours, which should be more than enough time for you to consume 10oz of coffee. Now for the important stuff. Does it fit in a NA Miata cupholder? Why yes it does!

How about an NB Miata with the NB2 console? Why yes it does!

Does it even fit in my 09 Prius daily driver cupholder? Well hell yes it does!

It also fits in the 05 Xterra cupholders, but I didn’t bother taking a picture of that, because the cupholders in that are huge. My 32oz Hydroflask actually fits in there, so pretty much every insulated mug ever fits.

Overall, I’m very happy with my newfound ability to transport hot liquids in my tiny car. If you’re looking for a coffee cup that fits in a cupholder, you’ll be super happy with this one.
